Citadel 6mm C42 Battlecars
This is a selection which were painted for a 1986 nationwide Battlecars competition. I painted several sets of these, and they were shipped out with terrain to each of the shops at the time. This was GW Sheffield's set. The winners of the regional heats then battled it out at Games day in the Royal Horticultural halls in Westminster, London.

Tamiya 1:32 Mini 4WD 'Proto-Emperor ZX'/28mm SF Vehicle 'Beast!'
Another splendid vehicle from this range. I opted to have a fully enclosed cabin for a more SF look.

These cars were originally bought as vehicles for SF games, but I quickly became enamoured of their racing abilities. Battery powered, and with upgradable gears, engines, wheels etc, they were fun to play with, even if we couldn't get the proper track.

Ork Army #2 - Heller CLICLAC 1:43 snap-together VBC90 Anti aircraft /28mm Ork APC 'Orkvan'
Another conversion from this cheap and cheerful kit. The only real changes were removal of the turret and capping with a slotta base, plus the addition of 6 balloon wheels, which came from champagne bottles (supplied by a friend's air hostess partner). I used this in the 40k bring and battle at golden Demon 1988 (it's just off the bottom left hand picture on page 16 of Fantasy Miniatures 1988). It also lived in the cabinet at GW Hammersmith for a while.
