Ral Partha 25mm ES99 Armoured giant on war elephant (first version)

Shades of Don Quixote, but a lovely model. I look at it now and I'm fairly happy with the elephant, but I could have done more with the giant.

Not a new project, fortunately one that is mostly complete. This model was quite an outlay for me, but he was lots of fun to paint, and makes a lovely (and deadly) centre-piece for the army.

Ral Partha 25mm ES57 Frost giant

This one's been on and off the table for some time, but playing 'revenge of the giants' in our regular DnD session prompted me to finish him off.

Citadel 25mm FF64-2: 'George the Giant'

This fellow is taller than 25mm, mainly because he's a giant. My title is to illustrate that, at that time, the majority of human sized creatures were 25mm tall, rather than the more current 28mm (or indeed taller - scale creep means that many current miniatures are 35mm or more).

I've been asked to post some more pictures of my older miniatures, so here goes...

I've just been scouring the Stuff of Legends for this, and it appears in White Dwarf 85.
It's from the mid to late 80s. It came in 5 parts - 4 leg units and a body. As I recall, a lot of these came back/got sent back because one of the knee joints was prone to breaking.

This example was painted way back then, and graced the figure cabinet of 1 Dalling Road for several years.

What's on the table?

Well, plenty of Dystopian wars stuff to do. There are the remainder of my Covenant of Antarctica ships - dreadnought, carrier and two Callimachus orbs.

Then there are several more Prussian models to complete - 3 Stolz, 6 Wachter, a Blucher, Imperium sky fortress, two Geiers still not completed, and now a Seydlitz mobile airfield.

The mobile airfield is huge - just compare the box to that of a dreadnought.

Sitting on the table is a commission piece I did for one of my friends - the starship Enterprise. This is one of the old Citadel/FASA miniatures from the 80s.

 There are always a few miniatures knocking around on my desk. This oriental ogre is about half done.

As is this ancient Ral Partha giant.

Then there are figures for a D&D party.
