I don't think there's much historical precedent for a weapon like this, but it looks like some sort of sword breaker naginata.

A whole series of ninjas to come, here's the first. When painting these guys, I was working on the premise that 'not all blacks are created equal' - I highlighted each different section of black with a different colour to achieve some variance.

This ninja wears Kusari or light chainmail armour. The Fukiya was a blowpipe which suited the ninja's stealthiness perfectly. No-one told Citadel that chow is a Chinese word, not Japanese, obviously.
