Hallowe'en special: Jack-o-bear lair

This was mostly created for a scenario in my DnD campaign this week, but a competition on the excellent Old School Miniatures group on Facebook spurred me on too.

The individual components are;

Decopatch pumpkin. This was 99p from my local art shop, the excellent Lawrence's. I liked the imperfections in the paper covering, suggesting roots and vines.

Have a spooky one!

Asgard 25mm FM71 Bugbear a.k.a. Jack-o-bear (first version)

This is a real monster sized Jack-o-bear, and a pretty early sculpt from Asgard, I suspect one of Bryan Ansell's.

Look into my eyes!

Citadel 25mm Runequest Box 4: Beastmen - Jack-o-bears

I loved this creature when it came out and remember adding an extra one to a shop order to go with the one from my boxed set. A fairly dark and simple scheme to really make the pumpkin heads stand out. Although they're the same model, I bent the arms to make them sufficiently different.

Converted 200230 Blood Bowl Ogre aka RuneQuest Dark Troll Gladiator

A conversion I started waay back in the day as a character for RuneQuest, recently finished.

Citadel 25mm RuneQuest Box 7b: Demons - Sraim

Well you wouldn't want to meet one of these down a dark alley at night would you? Another hit from the RuneQuest Demons box. I can't remember Demons featuring heavily in RuneQuest to be honest - I know this was used more than once in Chaosium's other Demon-heavy RPG, Stormbringer.

Citadel 25mm RuneQuest Box 7b: Demons - Stalker

This box was a bit hit and miss in my opinion, but this chap was just a hit all over. Skeksis-like beak, cloak and dagger - what's not to like?

Citadel 25mm RuneQuest - Box 2: Adventurers: Orlanth Adventurer

As mentioned waaay back in my spartan army units post. (Doh, sorry those who were waiting), here are some shots of the Greek warrior I used as a scale comparison. This facially-challenged miniature is from the licensed RuneQuest boxed sets from 1982. He lived in the cabinet @ GW Sheffield, when it was based at 95 The Moor. If you bought one from there, there's about a 90% chance I sold it to you :)

Citadel 25mm FA3 Cleric with Cross and Mace

The earlier version of this code from 1979. He's been modified with a Minifigs Hobgoblin shield. The rune is Issaries from RuneQuest. He's a bit out of character with that cross in Glorantha though. Another GW Sheffield figure cabinet miniature.
