Heroforge.com 28mm 3D-printed Adventurers

The premise of heroforge.com is simple. Design your character with their easy to use web based software, choose your quality and material. Let Shapeways (a well established 3D-printing house) print and deliver to your door. The cost is about £18 per miniature, but upon receiving these to paint as a commission from a friend, I could see that they were worth it. There are very few printing issues, and I'm very impressed with the amount of detail present. Here they are:

This represents the same character as the Dwarf adventurer, but in full armour. I was commissioned to paint these by a friend, so I created the white diamond theme on the back of the cape and coat to reinforce that link.

Citadel 25mm FTD13 'The Dwarf with no name'

This miniature from 1981 was released as part of the Fantasy Tribe Dwarfs range, but was later released as (probably more logically) WF11 by RAFM. He is based on Clin't Eastwood's famous character from 'The good, the bad, and the ugly', and I took a few pointers from that when choosing his colour scheme. I finished him this week, 35 years after I bought him.

A Bob Olley sculpt. I painted this as an exercise to see if I could still paint after an extended hiatus around 2011. I'm not particularly proud of it, but I was pleased enough to continue. As you may have noticed, his spear is broken, and has become a walking stick.

Minifigs 25mm D&D DWF10 Dwarf with Two-handed Axe

This is another of my really early pieces. I'm surprised the polyfilla and cardboard base has survived. Not a lot of detail, but that is to be expected of a 1977 sculpt.
