Nurgle army #13 - Citadel 28mm Converted Great unclean one

A totally unintentional paintjob, I'm pretty happy with the results. He came to me from my friend Hugh Fottrell, who had converted him to a bud swilling baseball cap wearing ruffian, but sadly the work had deteriorated and broken, so I set about restoring it. I was a little overzealous when removing some of the milliput additions and lost some detail on the face. This mostly had to be painted in freehand.

The swampy base was made with GOLDEN coarse pumice texture gel, some twigs, tufts and leaves, and repeated coats of Tamiya XF19 Smoke for the 'wet bits'

Citadel 28mm Bloodletters of Khorne

As I recall, I needed these fairly quickly for a game, and I wanted an otherworldly effect. I achieved this with an orange base coat over white, then successive applications of yellow and red inks. Some detailing on the weapons and faces once dry, et voila...

Citadel 28mm Chaos renegade

Another 1988 release, he's based on one of the round display bases that were available at the time. Before pink was in vogue for Slaanesh, the renegades were multicoloured, this particular example favouring an olive green and turquoise mix.

This miniature can also be seen on page 2 of the 1988 Fantasy miniatures book.

I took my cue for the helmet from 'Alien'

I made an attempt to make the backpack look daemonic

fluo red on olive green. Tasteless?

Another gribbly that my army has in its ranks.

As you can tell, there are a fair few non-standard bitz on there, including; A shell, a couple of tyranid arms, skaven tails, chaos marine parts, and some nice Nurgly balls. How many can you see?
