Citadel 25mm Speciality Set 4 - Goblin Raiding Party (and friends)

Back in 1982, boxed sets of miniatures were a new concept. These chaps accompanied Sets 1,2 and 3 (Champions of chaos, The Dwarf King's court and Night Elf Patrol), but never really sold as well as the others. That is, of course why these were painted for the cabinet at Games Workshop Sheffield.

Over the years, I supplemented the set with other goblins for RPG usage. I also went through repainting some of them, but I didn't get very far. :(

On to the individual miniatures.

Norgus the flatulent, attacking with spear

Well he certainly looks farty, but he's lost his spear somewhere along the way. Easily replaced. The paint job is an original '82.

Gigblad Childsplatter with Morningstar

The majority of this model has an '82 paint job, the flesh has been changed.

Goblin champion, Torg Dwarfsmasher

Another '82 paint job. Blue eyes - ew!

Warlord Ubar Earbiter - Goblin Chieftain

The warlord got a thorough refurbishment - this was the level I wanted to take them all to.

Discipline Master, Snurd Hideflayer with whip

Snurd's mostly '82, there was a repaint on the flesh

Urag Legeater attacking with war pick

Urag was the only other gobbo to get a full repaint - probably about '86 or '87. I was fairly pleased with him, and would use this as a template if I were to repaint them again.

Bulbug Orcleaver, D'glish Sharpcut, Pogo Wildchant and Zurgush Wartpicker do not feature here - I know I have the full set, they're probably packed away with the other goblins I have. I'll dig them out at a later date and repaint the whole lot I think.

Additions

PBS3 Warhammer regiments plastic goblin

A fine plastic miniature. I still have several more to use as a unit at some time.

Chronicle N16 Cave Goblin - 'Spiker'

He was one of the better miniatures from the range, and fit right in, so here he is :)
