Citadel 25mm ADD69 AD&D Githyanki

Another fine miniature from the Citadel AD&D range, this time a Githyanki, sculpted by Bob Naismith.

Citadel 25mm ADD79 AD&D Mind Flayer

A lovely miniature from this generally excellent range from way back. DnDlead (www.dndlead.com) says this is a Jes Goodwin sculpt - I think it looks more like Bob Naismith, myself.
I'm fairly pleased with how it came out, the head and hands had a gloss varnish to make them appear slimy.

Fenryll 28mm Frog priest

This little fella is a resin cast, from a range of frogs that Fenryll miniatures made. I don't think they are still produced.

Asgard miniatures NB1 Barbarian

This is the first of the 'Asgard specials', a splendid Barbarian from talented sculptor Nick Bibby. He stands about 64mm tall, which I presume is an Heroic 54mm scale. He was painted in the 80s at some point, and graced the GW Sheffield cabinet when we stocked that kind of thing.

Ral Partha 25mm ES95 Jabberwock

This miniature, a Tom Meier sculpt, dates from 1983, and was part of the GW Sheffield figure cabinet.
It was part of the ES 'Personalities and things that go bump in the night' range.
I was very fortunate to win first prize in the Fantasy section at Northern Militaire in November 1983 with this figure. :)

Citadel 25mm C18 Headless Ghost

Although this is a 1986 vintage miniature, I only painted him recently, as we were in need of some undead figures on our jaunt through the Tomb of Horrors (we've survived... ...so far).

Fenryll 28mm Diseased pumpkin

This little chap was one of the first new miniatures I painted after I got back into it. I guess I'd do it differently now.

Citadel 25mm FS6 Dungeon torturess with whip

What? Another dominatrix? Is this a theme? This one's a Citadel slavemistress, back from when they did that sort of thing. Original 80s paint job, with more recent rebasing.

Citadel 25mm WF2 Aerial Servant

This miniature dates from 1982, although he has had a touch-up since then. He graced the GW Sheffield cabinet for some years.

28mm 40k Inquisitorial henchman

This one's fairly recent. He's another miniature for our Dark Heresy game.

28mm 40k Adeptus mechanicus Tech-priest

This miniature represents my Dark Heresy character, Aeschillus Gout. Quite pleased with the result.

Firestorm Armada: Rense System Navy fleet

This project took far longer than I wanted it to - 13 months in all, though several of them were just 'stall' periods where I couldn't raise the enthusiasm to finish stuff.
Overall, I'm not as pleased with this project as I was with my previous Firestorm Armada foray. I think, as I've mentioned in previous posts, that I overcomplicated the painting. Another lesson learned.

So, on with the pictures:

Destroyer and Escorts

I wanted to convey the 'Elite' nature of the RSN, so I decided each vessel would have a unique fin identification. The destroyers would have this plus another group id marker. I'm happy with some of them. The Frigates and Escorts were painted freehand, whereas I used decals for the larger ships.

I'm glad these are finally off the table. I have a Marauders project for F:A to do at some point, but I think I'll be working on my Laserburn 15mm and Dystopian Wars projects before they get underway, not even mentioning the others. (Oh, I just mentioned them :/)
